When I see you
When there's no one talking to you yet,
You sit with your shadow
In the corner of your mind
Thinking nobody hears you
But I was listening
I could hear you whisper as you come in
You fought your battles far from me
Trying to hide the pain
As you turn back the pages
Talking should have been the answer
I see you stammer with your eyes to the floor
But you try to cover them up
With a mortifying smile on your face
But sometimes with a genuine grin
So when the world of real emotions Has surrounded you
